You can still revoke the access to the apps and services from your Google Account easily.  It can be done from a desktop or a smartphone, I have listed both ways for clarity.

Remove Third-party Access of Apps on Desktop

First, if you aren’t already logged in to your Google account, log in and go to myaccount.google.com.

You’ll see a few different options on the page, you can update your personal info, fix security issues with your account, remove access to third-party access, etc. Click Security from the list of options on the top.

It states ‘you gave these sites and apps access to some of your Google Account data, including info that may be sensitive’. Google even urges you to remove the access for those services you no longer trust or use. Click “Manage third-party apps” on the bottom of the section.

Now, you’ll have two separate lists; Third-party apps with accounts access and Signing in with Google. You can read about the potential risks here.

Now, to remove a service, just click on the service name and click ‘Remove Access’. That’s it, your data will no longer be accessible to that service. Repeat the process for all the sites and apps that you want to remove from your account.

You’ll get a warning when you click on the remove access button, it is crucial because if you revoke access to an app which you regularly use, the data associated with it will also be removed and you’ll have to grant them access again to use the service again.

Remove Third-party apps on a smartphone

Just like we did on a computer, you can revoke access of apps and sites to your account using your smartphone. Open the Google App on your smartphone and log in with your Google account. After logging in, tap the Avatar on the top right corner.

Tap ‘Manage your Google Account‘, it would open the settings in a new app. You can make all the changes here as we did on the desktop. Read: 6 Best Private Search engines which don’t track you like Google

Scroll the tab on the top horizontally and select ‘Security’ from the list of options. Now, scroll vertically to find the section ‘Third-party apps with account access‘. Tap ‘Manage Third-party Access‘ to reveal the list of apps associated with your Google Account.

Tap a service to reveal the ‘Remove Access‘ button next to it. You’ll get a warning that warns you that the data associated with the app will be deleted and you’ll have to log in again to allow the app access to your account. Tap OK and the service will be removed, forever. Unless you grant it access, again.

How to Remove Third-party apps from your Google Account

This is how you can delete all the apps associated with your Google account. Not all the apps would want to steal your data and cause harm but it is a good practice to read the terms and conditions of every app that you give access with your Google account. Or you can create a burner account with no info to log in with. What do you think? let me know in the comments below.
